Statement of Faith

Grounded in our commitment to the inspired, infallible, and final authoritative Word of God as revealed in Scripture, we join with the Christian Church, which has affirmed this faith for over 1,700 years across the globe, in professing the beliefs articulated in the Nicene Creed.

We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him, all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.

SONSHIP IN CHRIST

We believe that sonship is a core aspect of the Christian faith, offering believers a profound sense of identity, security, and purpose.

Sonship as Adoption: We are adopted into God’s family through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.  (Ephesians 1:4-6)

Sonship as Inheritance: As God’s children, we are heirs of His eternal kingdom and all its blessings.  (Romans 8:14-17)

Sonship as Transformation: The Holy Spirit empowers us to live as sons and daughters of God, conforming us to the image of Christ.  (Romans 8:29-30).

Sonship as Community: We are united with other believers in the global family of God, sharing in the love, joy, and purpose of our heavenly Father.  (Galatians 3:26-28)

Ron Young

Torry Ebell

Torry first became aware of biblical sonship through the teachings of his pastor. He was quick to understand the principal and began to see connections to sonship throughout scripture. But though the concept was strong in his mind, he found it difficult to embrace in his heart.

Over time, Torry began to realize that he was blocked emotionally, bottling up anger and rarely experiencing any sadness or joy. He eventually pushed himself to get some counseling, but made little progress and stopped, not interested in trying again. But with the passing of his father later that year, the issue came back to the surface: Torry knew intellectually that his complete lack of emotion was unhealthy, but he didn’t know what to do about it.

It was at that time that Ron, for the umpteenth time, invited Torry to a men’s retreat in Michigan – a retreat that was designed to help men get in touch with their emotions. Torry jumped at the opportunity and went expecting a breakthrough. He wasn’t disappointed. With the help of these men, he was able to crack the thick shell around his emotions and grieve his father’s passing. But more than that, over the following weeks and months, he began to recollect events from his past – traumas that led him to build the emotional fortress which protected him from the world – and begin his journey of internal healing.

On the way home from that Michigan weekend, Ron shared his vision to create a similar ministry in Colorado, combining the deep emotional work they had just experienced with the understanding of biblical sonship they had been learning back home. Torry immediately saw the potential and, knowing that there was a lot he could contribute, joined Ron in the process of developing Bridge to Sonship.
